Cathy Lupomech, age 62, of LaVista, formerly of North Platte, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Cathy was born July 7, 1957, to Edward and Mary Lupomech at North Platte where she grew up with her nine siblings. Cathy attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Schools, graduating from there in 1975, then went on to earn her B.A. from Kearney State College in 1979. Following graduation, Cathy moved to Omaha where she started her career at Pacesetter, door and window company. She was transferred to Dallas, Texas and worked for several years before returning to Omaha with a promotion to V.P. of Administration. Cathy later worked for AFLAC before retiring due to her health.
She was a member of St. Gerald’s Catholic Church in Ralston and it was her faith that gave her strength and contributed to her positive attitude throughout her illness.
Cathy was an avid Husker fan. She especially enjoyed Husker Volleyball and attended 4 Final Four Tournaments to cheer them on. One of the many things her family will miss is the sound of the pop top of her first and many more Diet Cokes of the day.
