Carolyn Wengler, 75, of North Platte, passed away on October 4, 2025, with her son by her side.
Carolyn was born on May 3, 1950 along with her twin sister Marilyn, in Hastings, Nebraska, to Amon and Fern Krieger. She was a twin and one of seven siblings.
On March 4, 1977, Carolyn was united in marriage to Dave Wengler in Hastings. She worked at Bruckman Rubber Company before relocating with her family to North Platte in 1980. There, she took over management of Mobile Manor, a position she held for 10 years. Afterward, Carolyn devoted her time to caring for others in the community until her retirement around 2015.
Carolyn had a love for life and enjoyed being part of the Monday night women’s pool league for over 20 years. She was an avid gardener—until the day she accidentally pulled up a snake while weeding, which promptly ended her gardening career. Carolyn also found great joy in camping and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Jim Krieger, John Krieger, and Leslie Krieger; and her sisters Marilyn Andruss, Marjorie Caudillo, and Sharon Morganflash.
Carolyn is survived by her two beloved sons, Amon John Krieger and David Paul Wengler.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Odean Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made toward medical expenses. Odean Colonial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at odeancolonialchapel.com.
