Carolyn Shuck

C arolyn S huck, age 83, of North Platte passed away September 29, 2024, at the North Platte Care Center.

Carolyn was born September 6, 1941, to Cecil and Sylvia Houchin in North Platte where she has resided all her life.  She was married to Herman Lieth and Ronald Deidel, both preceded her in death, then she married Dan Shuck.

Carolyn was a stay at home mom with her three children and later was a proud grandma.  She loved her children and grandkids all very dearly, they were her world.

Carolyn was also a feisty little firecracker that loved singing all the time, taking photos, and doing word searches (she accumulated a huge number of these over the years).  She was a woman devoted to her family and her faith.  Carolyn attended several churches over the course of her life, including Church of the Nazarene, Assembly of God, and most recently, the North Platte Baptist Church until she couldn't drive anymore.

Along with her first two husbands, Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Glenda Houchin, Rhonda Baker and Dallas Houchin.

She is survived by her children, Armita Broeder of North Platte, Rick Herder (Rosie) of Lincoln and Jolynn Hardizi (Abdel) of Atlanta, GA; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; her husband, Dan Shuck; and other family.
