Carmen Lee White

Carmen Lee (Wiebe) White was born on May 19, 1954 and was adopted by Abraham and Thelma Wiebe on Sept. 4, 1959 in Wichita, KS. She passed away on September 16, 2025 at Great Plains Health at the age of 71.

She attended several schools in Kansas and Nebraska and graduated from Doniphan High School in 1972. On September 29, 1972, Carmen was united in marriage to Gordon Dean White in Beaver Crossing.

Carmen spent her time working and raising their son Devon, attending all his school and sports activities. She volunteered at Sutherland school for activities her son was a part of.  She enjoyed going to casinos, visiting relatives, and playing pool for two leagues, and was on bowling teams for a few years.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gordon D. White; son, Devon (Aubrey); granddaughter, Sophia White; brother, Bill Pratt (Rita); niece, Coleen (Ryan) Mathen; nephew, Derek (Meghan) White, and daughter Macey; great niece, Sayward Matheny; great nephew, Billie Pratt and Felicia and many cousins, nephews, nieces and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ralph, and Elsie Imel; parents, Abraham and Thelma Wiebe, Mason, and Bentley White; sister, Francis June Wiebe; brothers-in-law, Jack, Ron, and Bob White; sisters-in-law, Sue, Ann and Carol White and Skylar; and many aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Eagles in North Platte. Everyone is welcome to come and share memories of Carmen. Odean Colonial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
