O n December 4, 2022, Hershey resident, Bruce Miller, died as the result of an automobile accident in Lincoln County. He was 79 years old.
Bruce was born to Blaine and Lavonne (Fitch) Miller at Sutherland on January 21, 1943. He grew up in Hershey where he graduated from high school in 1961.
Bruce married Judy Sivits in 1960 at the Methodist Church in Hershey. The couple made their home on the farm near Hershey, where Bruce farmed with his dad, and later divorced. He eventually started a trucking company with Carroll Carston and they called it Carmil Inc.
In 1979 Bruce married Kathleen Johnson and she joined him on the farm. They were married for 21 years when she passed away.
Bruce was a member of the Hershey United Methodist Church and a 4-H leader. He loved what he did and had a passion for cars.
Survivors include his children, Robin (Beverly) Miller of North Platte and Mike (Treasure) Miller of Clermont, FL; stepdaughter, Misty (Lyle) Rhoten of Omaha; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and other family.
Along with his wife, Kathleen, Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Blaine and Lavonne; brothers, Robert and Bill Miller; and stepdaughter, Chrystal Johnson.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Hershey United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. The guestbook may be signed online at odeanchapel.com, prior to services at the church or Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials are to the church.
