R obert "Bob" Pinion of Hershey peacefully passed away at Linden Court on July 2, 2023, at age 82.
Bob was born October 5, 1940, to Lloyd and Lillie Pinion at North Platte. He grew up on the family farm, northeast of Hershey, and attended country school in the Nichols community then went to Hershey High School, graduating in 1958.
On June 5, 1960, Bob was united in marriage to Patricia White at the Hershey Methodist Church. They made their home on the White family farm, south of Hershey, where they farmed and ranched with Pat's father and brother, DeWitt and Rodger White. The couple welcomed three sons and just celebrated their 63rd anniversary.
Bob was active in the Hershey community. He drove a school bus for many years, helped with 4-H, and served on various boards for the telephone company, rural fire district, ESU 16, and Hershey Public Schools. He was a charter member of the Hershey Lions Club and lifetime member of Hershey United Methodist Church.
Bob enjoyed many activities which included reading, watching Westerns on TV, raising pugs, and he was a Husker fan. He loved farming, his family and was proud of his children and grandchildren. Bob especially enjoyed supporting his sons and grandkids in their sporting activities throughout high school and college.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Tom Pinion.
Survivors include Bob's wife, Pat; sons, Kyle (Teri) of Kearney, Tal (Kelly) of Elkhorn and Casey (Kimberly) of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren, Aaron (Erin) Pinion, Jena (Grant) Schroll, Brooke Pinion, Jake (Macy) Pinion, Dylan Pinion and Cameron Pinion; great-grandchildren, Ivy, Elliott, Eden, Paisley, Miles and Decker; his sister, Ellen (Randy) Heil of North Platte; and other family.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Hershey United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating. Inurnment will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com, prior to services at the church, or at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the church or Hershey Volunteer Fire Department.
