Betty Johnson

B etty J ohnson, passed away in the care of her family and hospice on April 23, 2021, at her daughter's home in North Platte. She was 85 years old.

Betty was born to Theodore and Jessie McCully on June 9, 1935, in Livingston County, Missouri, where she was raised. She attended rural schools then married Ernest Johnson in 1951. They lived in Maryland while Ernest was in the military, then returned to Missouri after his discharge.

The Johnson family later moved to California. After Betty and Earnest divorced in 1976, Betty relocated to Tulelake, California where she was a life member and past president of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Betty loved her family and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Casbier; her parents, Ted and Jessie McCully; and all her siblings, Harold, Donald, Wayne, Ted and Myrl McCully and Ila Tharp, Mivervia Cummings and Jolene Walker.

Betty leaves behind her children, Kay Prentice, of North Platte, Mary Ann (Randal) Banning, of Flippin, Arkansas, and Michael (Stacey) Johnson, of Yuba City, California; as well as 7 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and many other family members.

Cremation was chosen and Betty will be buried at a later date with her daughter, Brenda. Condolences may be shared online at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
