Ben Niles

B enjamin N iles was born in Denver, CO, to Diana and Paul Niles, Sr. on August 1, 1963.  He peacefully passed away at home in North Platte on November 7, 2024, at the age of 61.

Ben grew up in Denver and graduated from Arvada High School in 1982 then attended A&P School in Colorado.  He moved to Texarkana, TX, and worked for Atlantic Southeast Airlines for 10 years then moved to North Platte where he hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad.  Ben started as Conductor and retired as Engineer.

On July 1, 1995, Ben married Lynnette Rudolph in North Platte.  He liked to fish, work with wood, watch car races and derbies, and go to online auctions.  He especially loved his family and his dogs.  Ben leaves us much too soon and will always be loved and missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Niles, Sr.; his brother, Tony Niles; sisters, Peggy Baker and Rhonda Niles; brother-in-law, Dale Wellborn; and his parents-in-law, Jim and Linda Rudolph.

Ben is survived by his wife, Lynnette; children, Jensyn Bell (Kyle) of Omaha, Benjamin Niles of Texarkana, TX, Kaelee Fletcher (Brad) of North Platte, Annalyse Niles of Lincoln and Emmalyn Niles of North Platte; grandkids, Kalibur, Gunner, Dakota, Zoey, Azalea, Micah and Adelaide; his mom, Diana King of Thornton, CO; step mom, Margaret Jacobs of North Platte; brothers, Jay Niles (Tammy) of Shawnee, KS, and Paul Niles, Jr. of North Platte; sisters, Rebecca Wellborn of Elizabethton, TN, Melissa Baker of Texarkana, TX, and Suzanne Thompson (Mike) of Macon, GA; and many other family members.

Celebration of Ben's life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 14, at Odean Colonial Chapel and family will be greeting an hour prior to the service.  The memorial book may be signed at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore which is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
