Ben Marlin, age 75, formerly of Glenwood, NM, passed away at Linden Court on May 13, 2021.
Ben was born to Chester and Connie Marlin on October 22, 1945, at Broken Bow and was raised by his grandparents, Christian and Cora Madsen, in Mason City. He graduated from Mason City High School then Kearney State College with his B.A. in Education.
Ben taught for a while then became a pharmaceutical sales rep for various veterinarian companies in Nebraska, South Dakota and California. After retiring, he moved to Glenwood, NM, and became a big game guide and outfitter for 25 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed making furniture for his children and customers. Ben was a great dad and grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Ben is survived by his children, Melissa (Tim) Brouillette, of North Platte, Mindy Marlin-Eichelberger (Nathan), of Cape Coral, FL, and Jake (Kathleen) Marlin, of Omaha; 11 grandchildren, Lacey, Ann, Jon, Lilly, Sophie, Jude, Beau, Braden, Tate, Hunter and Emma; great-granddaughter, Alayna; brothers, Bo (Ann) Marlin, of Millbrook, AL, and Jim (Martha) Sanford, of Crockettte, CA; sisters, Lee (Jim) Schneider, of Bellevue and Kathy (Doug) Whatley, of Folsom, CA; cousins, Dick (Linda) Madsen and Jim (Mary) Madsen, of Litchfield; his significant other, Evelyn Kluth, of Glenwood, NM; and many other family members.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Odean Colonial Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
