Anthony "Tony" Fitzpatrick

Anthony “Tony” Edward Fitzpatrick, 82, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on September 13, 2026, in Cozad, Nebraska. He was born on August 28, 1944, in North Platte to Francis Fitzpatrick and Evelyn (Minnick) Fitzpatrick.

Tony graduated from North Platte Catholic School. He proudly served in the United States Navy.

Tony had a love for horses and spent many years working with and raising them. He also drove a truck coast to coast and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 40 years. He loved life and never knew a stranger.

On April 26, 2007, Tony married Sarah (Obermeier) Fitzpatrick in Laughlin, Nevada.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sarah Fitzpatrick; daughter, Christie (Tom) Hongsermeier; sons, Tony (Kelli) Ferris, Travis (Joni) Fitzpatrick, and Tyler (Bodi) Fitzpatrick; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Justin; his mother and father; and brothers, Jim, Mike, and Denny.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Odean Colonial Chapel in North Platte, Nebraska, on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
