Margie Ann (Schriefer) Broshears, age 84, of Springfield, NE, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016, at her winter home in Harlingen, TX.
Ann was born August 8, 1932, to Omer and Viola Schriefer at Millstadt, IL. She grew up in Wheatland, IN and graduated from Wheatland High School.
On November 28, 1952, Ann was united in marriage to Charles Mack Broshears in Wheatland. The couple was blessed with four children, Richard, Michael, Sharon and Greg. The family lived all over since Mack was in the Air Force. They eventually settled in Springfield, NE. When the kids were older, Ann went to work at Platteview High School as a secretary and bookkeeper.
After Ann and Mack retired they spent their winters in Harlingen, TX. Here they enjoyed the warm weather and the many activities with their friends.
Ann attended the United Methodist Church in Springfield for many years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and was an excellent cook. Ann loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took great care of Mack and they were blessed with 64 years of marriage.
Ann leaves behind her loving husband, Mack, of Springfield, NE and Harlingen, TX; three children, Rick (Wanda) Broshears, of North Platte, NE, Mike (Gaye) Broshears, of Allen, TX, and Greg (Debbie) Broshears, of Bennington, NE; son-in-law, Tim Grimsley, of Olathe, KS; and a brother, Edward Schriefer, Wheatland, IN.
Survivors also include 10 grandchildren, Zack Broshears and Nick Broshears, of Lincoln, Becky (Jason) Strong, of Warsaw, VA, Adam Broshears, of Allen, TX, Andrew (Stephanie) Broshears, of Council Bluffs, IA, Connor Broshears, of Bennington, NE, Brandon (Amber) Yount and Courtney Yount, both of Lee's Summit, and twins, Tommy and Erin Grimsley, of Olathe, KS; three great-grandchildren, Haley, Oscar and Sophia, and one on the way; as well as other family members and her many friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Sharon; parents, Omer and Viola Schriefer; and parents-in-law, Fred and Ruth Broshears.
Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Springfield at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. The memorial book may be signed prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church. The family is in charge of arrangements.
