A nn B rewer of North Platte, NE, passed away at Great Plains Health on June 19, 2025, at age 61, following health complications.
Ann, daughter of Harry and Margaret Kimble, was born September 21, 1963, in Dayton, OH, where she grew up, graduated from high school and Sinclair Community College. She worked for Bob Evans as a cook then joined the Peace Corps.
On December 29, 1995, Ann married Craig Brewer in Covington, KY, and they made their home in Dayton, OH. She worked as a secretary for Holy Family Catholic School and later worked security for AK Steel.
In 2004 they moved to North Platte and became members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Ann went to work in housekeeping at Great Plains Health and worked until her health declined. She enjoyed playing video games, Farmville, Fishworld and World of WarCraft were her favorites. She was an avid painter and crafter, a woman of faith, and Christmas was her favorite holiday. Wherever Ann went, she crafted and created a community of people around her. She was one of the greatest women you would ever know.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mark Turner; and sisters, Vicki Ewing and Michele Whatley.
Ann is survived by her husband, Craig; daughter, Mariah Hopkinson (Jeff) of Kearney; nieces, Brittany Brown (Steve), Martha Brewer and Treva Howard; her best friend, Amanda McCleary of North Platte; and many other friends and extended family members.
Celebration of Ann's life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 26, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Father Jonathan Sorensen officiating. The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
