Alfredo Leon

A lfredo L eon, age 50, of Kearney, died as the result of an automobile accident on Monday, January 18, 2021.

Alfredo was born in Mexico on September 23, 1970, to Anselmo and Austreberta Leon. He grew up and attended school in North Platte and later worked for Hiatt Construction.

On April 26, 1992, Alfredo married Lisa Sellers in North Platte. They had two daughters, Leslie and Vanessa, and eventually divorced. Alfredo later adopted Victoria Bliven.

Alfredo loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, fishing and camping, and was proud to be called Grandpa. He was a good son to his mom and always looked after her. Alfredo will be greatly missed by his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anselmo; brother, Francisco 'Pancho' Leon; brother-in-law, Fernando Velazquez, Sr., and nephew, Fernando, Jr.

Survivors include his mother, Berta Leon, of North Platte; daughters, Leslie (Josh) Eskew and Vanessa Leon, of Brule, and Victoria Bliven, of Elwood; sisters, Lidia (Saul) Roman, Alicia (David) Monares and Minerva (Michael) Sellers, all of North Platte; grandchildren, Lilli, Ali, Bri, Duane and Braxton; as well as many other family members.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
